Hot Summer Action on XBLA

* July 30: Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2
* August 6: Braid
* August 13: Bionic Commando Rearmed
* August 20: Galaga Legions
* August 27: Castle Crashers

Taken straight from Joystiq. Good times to be sure. I'm not so sure about Braid, but I'm interested in every other game on that list. Especially Gala Legions and Castle Crashers.

Geometry Wars 2 looks to be more of the same with some extra modes and enemies thrown in to keep things fresh.

Braid is some kind of a wacky puzzle game where you have the ability to rewind time and this plays an integral role in solving the puzzles.

Bionic Commando Rearmed is a remake of the classic NES game with added multiplayer features. Admittedly wasn't that excited about it at first, but it could be fun considering Capcom's other XBLA offerings thus far.

Galaga Legions is basically Galaga on crack. And much like the recent remake of Space Invaders - this game looks pretty fucking amazing in action. I'm not terribly great at shooters, but I do find them entertaining from time to time.

Castle Crashers is easily my favorite game on the list, it's the follow-up to Alien Hominid yet totally different. It's got that same cutesy cartoony style, but the game itself is actually much like an old fashion beat-em up. The difference between Crashers and your typical beat-em up is that the game combines some RPG elements into the mix - as your character not only has a mana bar of sorts, but also grows and learns new skills and abilities. Of course the whole thing can be up to Four Player Co-Op so when you wrap everything together its positively dreamy. Sorry, I had a gay moment there.

I'll more than likely end up purchasing most of these games, and yet somehow I have to balance in all the full retail games I want to pick up in August as well. Christ.
